影片以游記隨筆《青春18×2 日本慢車流浪記》為原型。18年前，來(lái)自日本的背包客阿美（清原果耶 飾）來(lái)到了高中生吉米（許光漢 飾）打工的店中，兩人在同一家店中一同工作度過(guò)了一個(gè)夏天。吉米漸漸對(duì)阿美產(chǎn)生好感，然而阿美將回到日本。面對(duì)無(wú)法整理心情的吉米，阿美提出了“一個(gè)約定”……時(shí)光流逝，回到老家的吉米發(fā)現(xiàn)了阿美18年前從日本寄來(lái)的明信片。初戀的記憶涌現(xiàn)，吉米乘上通往阿美的故鄉(xiāng)的列車，開(kāi)始了獨(dú)自一人的日本之旅。
